Production resumed at Tesla’s European gigafactory in Germany, following a week-long power outage caused by an arson attack on a nearby electricity pylon, Reuters reports.
Michaela Schmitz, head of the works council at the site, confirmed that production has restarted in a controlled and safe manner, allowing the early shift to resume work. Tesla CEO Elon Musk is anticipated to visit the factory on Wednesday, with plans for a team meeting, according to Schmitz.
The factory, which suffered significant production disruptions, was reconnected to the grid on Monday after an arson attack attributed to far-left activists. Tesla estimates significant financial losses amounting to hundreds of millions of euros due to the incident.
