India has approved a 103 billion rupee ($1.2 billion) investment in artificial intelligence projects, aimed at enhancing computing infrastructure and developing large language models, Reuters reports.
The funding will also support AI startups and the creation of AI applications for public sector use. India’s AI market is projected to reach $17 billion by 2027, with expected growth rates between 25% and 35% annually from 2024 to 2027, according to IT industry body Nasscom.
