Gaza Officials Say Palestinian Death Toll Surpasses 30,000

A deadly strike on a crowd in Gaza City waiting for humanitarian aid, with at least 70 people killed, raising the Palestinian death toll to over 30,000 in the Israel-Hamas conflict, according to the Gaza Health Ministry, Associated Press reports.

The Gaza Health Ministry reports that the Palestinian death toll has climbed to 30,035, with another 70,457 wounded. The provided figure does not differentiate between civilians and combatants, the ministry also claims that women and children make up around two-thirds of the casualties.

Despite efforts by aid groups to deliver essential supplies, the situation in Gaza remains dire due to logistical challenges, ongoing hostilities, and the breakdown of public order. The UN estimates that a quarter of Gaza’s 2.3 million population is facing starvation and around 80% are displaced from their homes.
