Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has announced his intention to run for president again in 2025 during a polling station visit after voting in parliamentary and local council elections, Reuters reports.
Lukashenko, who has been in power since 1994 and is a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, stated that no responsible president would abandon their people. He also acknowledged that circumstances could change before the election and that he would respond accordingly to societal and situational developments.
