Israeli troops have accidentally shot and killed three hostages after mistakenly identifying them as a threat in Gaza City amid ongoing intense fighting between Israeli forces and Hamas militants, Associated Press reports.
The hostages were young men, identified as Yotam Haim, 28, Samer Al-Talalka 25, and Alon Shamriz, 26, who were abducted by militants in October and were mistakenly killed in the Shijaiyah area of Gaza City.
Additionally, an Israeli strike in southern Gaza killed Palestinian journalist Samer Abu Daqqa, his death adds to the toll of journalists killed in the conflict.
