French President Emmanuel Macron expressed deep concern over the renewed violence in Gaza and announced his plans to visit Qatar to aid in efforts for a new truce, Reuters reports.
Macron emphasized the need for intensified efforts to achieve a lasting ceasefire and the release of all hostages after the temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hamas collapsed.
He called on Israel to clarify its goals regarding Hamas and cautioned against pursuing the total destruction of Hamas, which he said could prolong the conflict for 10 years.
