Hamas Releases 12 Hostages, Israel Frees 30 Prisoners

Hamas and Israel have conducted another swap of hostages and prisoners as part of a cease-fire agreement on Tuesday, the fifth day of the temporary cease-fire between Israel and Hamas, AP News reports.

Hamas has released ten Israeli hostages, including nine women and a 17-year-old girl, along with two Thais to the Red Cross in Gaza, while Israel released 30 Palestinian prisoners in return.

The cease-fire has been extended until Wednesday, raising the possibility of further exchanges. Since Friday, Hamas has released 81 hostages, mainly Israeli nationals, while Israel has freed 180 Palestinian prisoners.
