Hamas Releases 24 Hostages in Exchange for 39 Palestinian Prisoners as Part of Ceasefire Deal

Hamas has released 24 hostages, including 13 Israelis, 10 individuals from Thailand, and one from the Philippines, from Gaza with Israel releasing 39 Palestinians from prison in return, AP News reports.

The agreement allowed aid to flow into Gaza, providing temporary relief for Gaza’s 2.3 million residents after weeks of intense Israeli bombardment.

The release of hostages brought hope to families affected by the conflict, but concerns remain about the short duration of the truce. Both sides warned that the war might resume once the four-day ceasefire expires.
