Israel is reportedly planning to launch military operations in southern Gaza after leaflets were dropped urging residents of four neighborhoods in Khan Younis to evacuate, Financial Times reports.
The Israeli military has discovered the body of Yehudit Weiss, a hostage abducted by Hamas, during operations around al-Shifa hospital. The IDF also claims to have found an “underground tunnel shaft” and Hamas weapons during the search of the hospital.
Israel has focused its military operations mainly in northern Gaza but is now considering operations in southern Gaza, where nearly 1 million Palestinians have sought refuge.
The neighborhoods mentioned are in eastern Khan Younis, south of the evacuation line imposed by Israel, and Israel believes that some Hamas leaders have moved south.
