Netflix announced that its ad-supported subscription tier has reached 15 million global monthly active users, adding 8.8 million subscribers in the last quarter, CNBC reports.
This growth comes as Netflix has been expanding its efforts to generate more revenue, including a focus on its ad-supported option alongside a crackdown on password sharing.
The company has plans to introduce new features for both advertisers and users, including different ad formats (10-, 20-, and 60-second ads), higher streaming resolution, and the ability to download content.
