German-Israeli Woman Abducted by Hamas at Music Festival Confirmed Dead, Israel Says

German-Israeli woman Shani Louk who was abducted by Hamas from a music festival on Oct. 7, has been confirmed dead, according to Israel’s foreign ministry, Insider reports.

Louk, 23, had been attending a festival near the Kibbutz Re’im when Hamas militants stormed the area, killing 260 people. More than 1,400 people were killed and more than 200 were kidnapped during the deadly Hamas raid.

A video later showed the semi-naked body of a woman with her legs bent at unnatural angles on the back of a truck surrounded by Hamas militants. Her face was not visible, but her dreadlocks and tattoos helped her family to identify her as Louk, The Washington Post reports.

In an RTL interview, Louk’s mother said that Israeli officials had found a skull fragment that belonged to her daughter based on DNA evidence, indicating that Louk had likely been killed on Oct. 7 with a bullet to the head.
