Blinken Visits Israel to Show US Support After Hamas Attacks

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited Tel Aviv in Israel to express solidarity with the country following the recent attacks by Hamas, Al Jazeera reports.

Blinken met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and emphasized the US’s support for Israel saying “We’re here. We’re not going anywhere.”

He also called for the protection of Gaza’s civilian population and stressed the importance of avoiding harm to civilians.

The United States has deployed an aircraft carrier battle group to the eastern Mediterranean as a show of support.
