Israel Orders Complete Siege of Gaza, Drafts 300,000 Reservists

The Israeli military has ordered a complete siege on the Gaza Strip, cutting off the entry of food, fuel, and supplies to its 2.3 million residents, AP News reports.

This move comes after Hamas militants launched a surprise attack from Gaza that caught the Israeli military off guard, resulting in heavy casualties.

Tanks and drones were deployed to guard the breaches in the border fence, and thousands of Israelis were evacuated from towns near Gaza.

Israel has also drafted a record 300,000 reservists following the attack, raising concerns about the potential for a ground assault into Gaza, Reuters reports.
