Canada has accused India of involvement in the murder of Canadian Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was fatally shot outside a Sikh temple in Canada on June 18, BBC reports.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated that Canada was examining “credible allegations” linking the Indian state to the murder.
India has denied any involvement and expelled a Canadian diplomat after Canada expelled an Indian diplomat over the allegations.
Nijjar was a prominent Sikh separatist leader campaigning for Khalistan, the creation of an independent Sikh homeland in the Punjab region of India.
