New York City Bans TikTok on Government Devices

New York City has banned the TikTok app from government-owned devices due to security concerns, CNBC reports.

The move comes after Congress voted to ban TikTok on federal devices last year and follows similar actions taken by several states.

Policymakers fear that TikTok could potentially expose US users’ data to the Chinese government if ByteDance is forced to comply with Chinese law.

City agencies have 30 days to remove the app from government-owned devices.
