South Korea Hit by Two Stabbing Attacks in Two Days

South Korea has been hit by back-to-back stabbing incidents in two days, Al Jazeera reports.

On Thursday, a man rammed multiple pedestrians with a car before going on a stabbing rampage, injuring 14 people near a subway station in Seongnam.

Two out of the five people hit by the car are in critical condition, eight out of the nine stabbed were being treated for serious injuries.

The police detained a 22-year-old suspect but have not provided any information on the suspect’s motive.

On Friday, a high school teacher was stabbed after stepping out of a classroom at Songchon High School in the city of Daejeon.

The police arrested a suspect in his late 20s and officials suggest the perpetrator and victim were acquaintances.
