Poland accuses Belarus of violating its airspace with two military helicopters and has rushed troops to its eastern border in response, Reuters reports.
Poland’s Defence Ministry announced sending additional forces, including combat helicopters, to the border and informed NATO about the incident.
The Belarusian military denied the violation and accused Poland of fabricating the accusation to justify a troop buildup.
Last week, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko had taunted Poland over the presence of Russian Wagner mercenaries near the border.
