Israel has launched a two-day operation against the Jenin refugee camp, a militant stronghold in the occupied West Bank, AP News reports.
The raid involved airstrikes and hundreds of ground troops, resulting in the deaths of at least 12 Palestinians and one Israeli soldier.
The withdrawal from Jenin followed a Hamas militant attack in Tel Aviv and rocket fire from Gaza.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged to carry out similar operations in the future if needed.
