Brazil’s highest electoral court has voted 5-2 in favor to bar former President Jair Bolsonaro from public office until 2030, Al Jazeera reports.
The court convicted Bolsonaro of abuse of power for casting doubt on the country’s electronic voting system during the 2022 elections.
Bolsonaro has been accused of rallying his supporters to reject the election result, which led to the storming of government buildings earlier this year.
