On Sunday, a tourist submarine carrying five people went missing during a dive to the Titanic’s wreck in the Atlantic Ocean, BBC reports.
The small sub lost contact about an hour and 45 minutes into its dive, it is supplied with four days worth of oxygen (96 hours).
OceanGate, the tour firm operating the submarine, has launched a large search and rescue operation together with US and Canadian navies.
The five on board include British businessman Hamish Harding, another businessman Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman Dawood.
Also on board is French explorer Paul-Henry Nargeolet and CEO of OceanGate Stockton Rush widely reported to be the pilot of the vessel.
Tickets cost $250,000 (£195,000) for an eight-day trip including dives to the wreck at a depth of 3,800m (12,500ft).
