Users and moderators on the Reddit social media platform are protesting against the platform’s new API changes, The Verge reports.
Thousands of subreddits are going dark for 48 hours or indefinitely, according to the website Reddark.
The protests are due to API changes that will force many third-party apps like Apollo and rif is fun for Reddit to shut down.
The new pricing would cost Apollo $20 million per year to operate and the developer has said the app will be forced to shut down on June 30th.
