On Friday, a 37-count criminal indictment was unsealed against former President Donald Trump for illegally retaining classified documents, CNBC reports.
The indictment said Trump ordered scores of cardboard boxes containing confidential documents to be transported to Mar-a-Lago.
It also alleges that Trump showed classified documents to other people in the summer of 2021, after having left office earlier that year.
The documents contained information regarding the defense and weapons capabilities of the US and foreign countries.
It also contained information on US nuclear programs and potential vulnerabilities of the US and its allies.
Two of his lawyers representing him in the classified documents case and in another pending federal criminal investigation have resigned.
