On Sunday, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ New Democracy party emerged as the largest party but fell short of a majority, AP News reports.
New Democracy received 40.7.9% of the vote and 146 seats, five short of a majority of 151. The Syriza party got 20.07% and Pasok received 11.46%.
On Monday, Mitsotakis confirmed he would not form a coalition government. A new election will take place between June 25 and July 2.
