Disney Cancels Plans for $864 Million Campus in Florida

Disney is scrapping plans to build an $864 million campus in Florida for 2,000 employees, according to an e-mail to employees, Reuters reports.

In 2021, Disney decided to relocate its Imagineers, employees who design theme park rides, from California to a new campus in Lake Nona, Orlando.

However, the company has been in a dispute with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, after its then-CEO Bob Chapek criticized the “Don’t Say Gay” law.

Disney parks chief Josh D’Amaro said the “changing business conditions,” have made them reconsider the decision.
