On Saturday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky traveled to Rome to meet with Italian officials and Pope Francis, AP News reports.
Zelensky met with Italian prime minister Georgia Meloni and President Sergio Mattarella, who pledged military and financial aid to Ukraine.
He also spoke with Pope Francis at the Vatican and sought support for Ukraine’s own peace plan from the pontiff.
