US Rep. George Santos has been arrested and charged with 13 counts. He is suspected of lying to Congress and embezzling money, AP News reports.
The charges include wire fraud, money laundering, theft of public funds and making false statements to Congress.
On Wednesday, Santos appeared in court in New York and pleaded not guilty, he was later released on a $500,000 bond.
