On Tuesday, a jury found former US president Donald Trump liable for sexual assault and defamation against journalist E. Jean Carroll, Reuters reports.
Trump, 76, is sentenced to pay five million dollars in damages to Carroll, 79, but is acquitted of rape charges.
In 2019, Carroll sued Trump for alleged rape at a Bergdorf Goodman department store dressing room in New York in either 1995 or 1996.
On Truth Social, Trump said “I have absolutely no idea who this woman is” and will appeal the verdict.
