On Saturday, a gunman opened fire killing eight people and injuring seven at a shopping mall north of Dallas, Texas, BBC reports.
A police officer at the mall killed the gunman after hearing gunshots. Footage after the incident showed an AR-15 rifle lying near his body.
The incident is the 199th mass shooting in the US this year, where at least four people have been shot dead, according to the Gun Violence Archive.
