On Wednesday, journalist and author E. Jean Carroll testified against former president Donald Trump of alleged sexual assault, CNN reports.
Carroll accuses Trump of raping her in a dressing room at the Bergdorf Goodman department store in New York City in 1996.
Carroll went public with the allegations years later, but Trump repeatedly denied the accusations. She is now suing for battery and defamation.
“I’m here because Donald Trump raped me, and when I wrote about it, he said it didn’t happen. He lied and shattered my reputation and I’m here to try to get my life back.”
