On Wednesday, Walt Disney Co. sued Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for alleged political efforts to punish the company, Reuters reports.
Disney accuses DeSantis of using the state government to punish the company after it criticized a controversial LGBTQ legislation in Florida.
The lawsuit comes after Florida lawmakers passed legislation ending the virtual autonomy of the Disney World theme park.
Last year, Disney openly criticized the “Don’t Say Gay” law, which prohibits teaching sexual orientation and gender identity in primary schools.
