On Monday, the Nashville Metropolitan Council unanimously voted to restore Rep. Justin Jones to office, four days after he was expelled, reports AP News.
Last week, Jones and fellow lawmaker Justin Pearson were suspended from the state legislature after they participated in a gun-control protest.
The move garnered nationwide attention as expulsion was a punishment for serious misconduct and not a weapon against political opponents.
