On Sunday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi made public the latest tiger population numbers at the International Big Cat Alliance conference, reports The Hindu.
The number of tigers in India is slowly increasing, there are now 3,167 tigers in the country, compared with 2,967 in 2018 and 2,226 in 2014.
However, the cats still face several problems, including illegal hunting, destruction of habitat, and expanding mining operations in the region.
