China commences a three-day military exercise around Taiwan, following Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-Wen’s visit to the United States, Reports CNN.
The military exercise was dubbed “United Sharp Sword,” and Taiwan detected nine Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) vessels.
A total of 71 Chinese warplanes crossed over the Taiwan Strait, with 45 entering Taiwan’s air defense zone.
China, which regards Taiwan as its own territory, had repeatedly warned in advance of serious consequences against the trip.
