On Thursday, Israel’s parliament voted through the first of several laws that aims to protect Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, reports AP News.
Under the new law the prime minister can only be removed due to health or mental reasons, and only him or his government can make that decision.
The bill comes after Netanyahu’s opponents called him unfit to rule because of corruption charges brought against him.
