On Thursday, China’s military claim that the American destroyer USS Milius had “illegally” entered Chinese territorial waters in the South China Sea, reports The Guardian.
The US dismissed the accusations and writes in a statement that the warship is conducting a routine operation wherever international law allows.
China claims sovereignty over almost the entire South China Sea, which has caused tension among nations in Southeast Asia.
