French President Emmanuel Macron says in a television interview that the controversial pension reform is necessary for French society, reports BBC.
He said the reform is needed to support France’s pay-as-you-go pension system where workers pay for retirees.

Macron’s government plans to implement the increase in the pension age to 64 by the end of 2023.
