Volkswagen is putting plans to build a battery factory in Eastern Europe on hold, reports the Financial Times.
The automaker is instead prioritizing a facility in North America, where it expects to get €10 billion in tax breaks from the US reform package Inflation Reduction Act.
The plan was to wait with the factory in Europe to see how the EU would respond to Washington’s support package, a source told the financial newspaper.
