Former US President Jimmy Carter, 98, who was president between 1977 and 1981, is receiving hospice care, according to his organization Carter Center.
The ex-president “decided to spend his remaining time at home with his family and receive hospice care instead of additional medical intervention.”
The announcement comes after Carter had recently been hospitalized a number of times.
