Mexico has enacted a set of anti-tobacco laws with a total ban on smoking in public places as well as tobacco advertising.
In 2008, Mexico implemented smoke-free spaces in bars, restaurants and workplaces. The new law will outright ban smoking in all public spaces.
The law will also ban the advertisment, promotion and sponsorship of tobacco products. Cigarettes can no longer be on show inside shops.
Vapes and e-cigarettes will also see tighter new restrictions, particularly indoors.
