South Korea’s antitrust regulators fined Tesla 2.75 billion won ($2.2 million) after the automaker failed to inform customers of the reduced driving range of its EVs in low temperatures.
The Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) said Tesla allegedly exaggerated features like driving range, fuel cost-effectiveness compared to gasoline and Supercharger performance.
At low temperatures, the driving range dropped by up to 50.5%, far from what it was advertised as. The loss of driving range is not mentioned anywhere on its website.
