Former US president Donald Trump’s collection of digital trading cards has sold out in less than a day, netting $4.5 million in sales despite being widely mocked online.
On Thursday, Trump posted a promotional video for his non-fungible tokens (NFTs) collection on Truth Social, the cards cost $99 (£81) each.
On Friday, NFT marketplace OpenSea said that the whole collection of 45,000 cards had been sold out, netting Trump $4.5 million in sales.
Buyers also entered a sweepstake for a chance to win prizes including a dinner at Mar-a-Lago, a game of golf, or a Zoom call with the former president.
