On Sunday, NASA’s Artemis I mission was successful after the uncrewed Orion capsule safely splashed down in the Pacific Ocean of the coast of Baja California.
On Nov. 14, Artemis I successfully launched with NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) into space, after some initial setbacks and delays.
On Nov. 25, the uncrewed Orion capsule reached the moon and made its close approach of 130km (81 miles) to the lunar surface.
On Nov. 26, the spacecraft broke the old record of 400,171 km (248,655 miles) from earth, extending the record to 432,210 km (268,563 miles) after two days.
Overall, the Artemis I mission was a success and unless any postflight analysis reveals any serious issues, NASA can now prepare to send a crewed flight with Artemis II in 2024.
