Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s niece, Farideh Moradkhani, has called on foreign governments to cut all ties with Tehran, following its crackdown on nationwide protests.
“O free people, be with us and tell your governments to stop supporting this murderous and child-killing regime. This regime is not loyal to any of its religious principles and does not know any rules except force and maintaining power.”
– Farideh Moradkhani
Moradkhani, whose late father was married to Khamenei’s sister, was reportedly arrested on Nov. 23 following the video statement.
Nationwide protests broke out following the arrest of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini for “inappropriate attire” and subsequent death in the custody of Iran’s morality police.
