On Firday, Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes was sentenced to 135 months in prison for fraud after deceiving investors of the efficacy of her company’s blood-testing technology.

Witnesses revealed how Holmes and former operating chief Ramesh Balwani deceived patients, partners, investors and employees of the company’s progress and technological capabilities.
The 38-year-old’s defense team argued for 18 months, while prosecutors sought 15 years, US District Court Judge Edward Davila sentenced her to 11 years and three months in jail.
