Kevin Conroy, the Batman voice actor from Warner Bros.’ TV show “Batman: The Animated Series,” has passed away after a short battle with cancer, age 66.
“Kevin was perfection. He was one of my favorite people on the planet, and I loved him like a brother. He truly cared for the people around him – his decency shone through everything he did. Every time I saw him or spoke with him, my spirits were elevated.”
– Mark Hamil
Conroy’s deep Batman voice in the 85 episode show was widely acclaimed by critics and comic book fans. It aired from 1992-1995 on Fox Kids and featured Mark Hamill as the Joker.
Conroy’s performance was so beloved that he continued with the character in various other DC projects, including the “Batman: Arkham” and “Injustice” video games franchises.
He also appeared in several DC Universe Animated Original Movies, starting with “Batman: Gotham Knight” (2008) and final one being “Justice League vs. the Fatal Five” (2019).
