France to Require All Large Car Parks to Be Covered by Solar Panels

This week, France approved new legislation that requires all large car parks in France to be covered by solar panels.

The French Senate approved legislation that requires existing and new car parks with space for at least 80 vehicles to be covered by solar panels.

Car parks between 80 and 400 spaces will have five years to comply, while those with 400+ spaces only need to cover half of the area with solar panels within three years.

The French government estimates that the measure could generate up to 11 gigawatts of power.
