Starting Nov. 1, most New York City businesses will be required to post the salary range on all job listings, promotions and transfer opportunities.
Companies are now required to post the salary range for any position performed in New York City, including remote work.
The law applies to businesses with four or more employees (including the employer), where at least one person is working in New York City.
The law is now in effect, and companies will have 30 days to adjust or may face civil penalties of up to $250,000.
Colorado has introduced a similar law, with California and the rest of New York State to follow suit by next year.
