On Tuesday, just five days before her 97th birthday, actor Angela Lansbury from ‘Murder, She Wrote’ and ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ has died in her sleep aged 96.
“The children of Dame Angela Lansbury are sad to announce that their mother died peacefully in her sleep at home in Los Angeles at 1.30am, Tuesday 11 October 2022.”

Lansbury is best known as Jessica Fletcher from ‘Murder, She Wrote,’ and also notably voiced Mrs Potts in the 1991 Disney film ‘Beauty and the Beast.’
Over the course of her career, she received five Tony Awards, six Golden Globes, an Olivier Award, an Honorary Oscar and a Lifetime Achievement Award from BAFTA.
In 2014, Lansbury was made a dame by Queen Elizabeth II.
