James Earl Jones Signs Over Rights to Voice of Darth Vader, Retires from Star Wars

James Earl Jones steps down from voicing the Star Wars character, Darth Vader after almost 40 years in the role.

The 91-year-old actor has signed over the rights to his voice to filmmakers using new AI technology.
In 1977, Earl Jones made his debut as the legendary Star Wars villain and has continued to voice the same character up to the recent Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+.

While actor David Prowse dressed and played the role for the original films, it was Earl Jones who provided the unique deep voice of Darth Vader.
