Protests Erupts Across Iran Following the Death of a Young Woman in Custody

On Tuesday, protests continue across Iran following the arrest and subsequent death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini in police custody last week.
Amini had been arrested by morality police for "unsuitable attire," the strict rules which requires women to wear modest clothing and cover their hair in public.

She later fell into a coma and died while in custody. Her father said she was healthy, but had suffered bruises to her legs in custody and blame the police for her death.
Demonstrations in Kurdistan broke out following Amini's death and spread to other provinces in northwestern Iran, resulting in three casualties after security forces opened fire.

Tehran Governor Mohsen Mansouri accused foreign agents of instigating the violence and have arrested citizens of three foreign countries.
